Here you can choose if you want to install VeraCrypt or extract it (so you can run it as a portable program). This way users could give other family's carte blanch on their machine and not have to worry about the family member stumbling onto their porn or whatever it is they wish to protect i.e. It'd literally take all of ten minutes to create. I know we'd end up with a whole lot of folders we couldn't access on our computers but why not just offer the damn feature. Putting some sort of password control on directory would be simple to implement. I know people who have ended up doing it, not because they wanted to but because it was the only option available. Perhaps in an enterprise environment that sort of 1:1 is followed, the logged in user is indeed the person at the computer but in the home environment the idea of running multiple profiles on a single computer is almost laughable. ![]() User control/access is design to only allow the logged in user the ability to view the files under their profile. You know for the past decade I've seen this question being asked and invariably the same answer is given.
